Summary: | 10 Nov.) Macbeth William Shakespeare (12 Sept-10 Nov.) A Christmas Carol adapted from Charles Dickens by Michael Wilson (29 Nov - 28 Dec.) The Underpants Steve Martin, adapted from Carl Stemheim (9 Jan.-9 Feb.) A Song at Twilight Noël Coward (20 Feb.-16 Mar.) Somewhere Matthew Lopez (3 Apr-4 May) Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike Christopher Durang (May 22-June 22) Hartford can be very proud of the high-caliber theatrical institution in its midst, which this year celebrated an important anniversary and garnered recognition in the national spotlight at the Tony Awards for its role as an artistic home for developing exciting new work. Tresnjak's predecessor Michael Wilson supervised a reworking of the company's annual production of A Christmas Carol (as adapted by Michael Wilson during his tenure at Hartford Stage) with new costumes, lighting, and special effects. A play very much in the spirit of The Glass Menagerie, Somewhere tells the poignant story of a young man, Alejandro Candelería, who has set aside his dream of being a professional Broadway dancer and accepted his responsibility to financially support his family. |
