Description
Summary:In order to improve the decient high school academic performance in Mexico, it is necessary to study its predictor variables. The objective of this study was to measure the trajectories of self-regulation, resilience, and educational goals in the academic performance of high school students, in relation to the perceived risk behavior on the part of friends and the risk environment in the schools. One hundred and twenty low-performing high school students in the city of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico were interviewed. A trajectory analysis showed that the variables under study protect students from the negative eects of the perception of risk in the school environment and in the behavior of friends.
