Summary:The objective of this research was to identify whether investors in Recife the stock market have interest in non-financial criteria when making investment decisions. To this end, questionnaires were applied with investors, registered in the database of a broker and gifts in events held by Apimec in September 2012. The questionnaire contained 12 statements about financial and non-financial characteristics of companies and investors should indicate the level of interest in investing in accordance with the features stated companies. The financial criteria corresponded to liquidity, profitability and risk and non-financial criteria based on the technical option screens, with positive and negative for selecting socially responsible investment screening. Factor analysis was applied to these assertions formed to identify factors, as well as those relevant were included in each factor. Thus, through factor analysis identified that non-financial criteria are being considered in the decision making process of investors surveyed.
