Description
Summary:This study aims to discuss and compare the characteristics for grade 1-12 school curriculum in East Asia. Through the discussion about the school curriculum in Mainland China, Hong Kong ,Japan, Korea and Singapore, we can provide some suggestions for the curriculum reform for the G1-12 basic education in Taiwan. The characteristics of G1-12 school curriculum reform in these five regions, are as the follows: 1. Paying close attention to the whole person development for students; 2. Giving the opportunity of adaptive development for students; 3. Emphasizing the wholeness and completeness of curriculum structure. These core ideas, the whole person education, success for all, developing every student's talent, and curriculum coherence and integration are similar with Taiwan's G1-12 curriculum guideline.
