Summary:As requested by the health authorities, healthcare facilities need to collaborate with one another. They adopt strategies in which they combine simultaneously relations of competition and cooperation. The factors behind the implementation of these strategies are still poorly understood. In order to identify the dynamics of such strategies, we conducted a qualitative study. The results of this study show the existence of public-private partnerships. The drivers of such partnerships between competitors are: the desire to reduce uncertainty about the shortage of medical resources and the need to reduce production costs when the healthcare facility does not have the needed resources to achieve its goals.
