Description
Summary:Regarding the number of unbanked in the world and the growing number of mobile phones in use, the Mobile Banking seems to be the solution to deliver financial services to an unbanked population. Yet some private investors and financial institutions are reluctant to serve this people for inaccessibility reasons, geographical distance or cost. This paper aims to examine the attitudes of microfinance professionals vis-à-vis the introduction of Mobile Banking services to unbanked people from developed and developing countries. Results have shown the huge potential of mobile phones to provide access to financial services to unbanked in developing countries while lowering transactions costs. High potential market, Mobile Banking seems to have a very positive future in developing countries while it does not seem to provide a lasting solution for the unbanked in developed countries.
