Valproic Acid and Carbapenems interaction: clinical outcomes
In three patients (33.3%) the drug interaction had clinical consequences (in one patient the VPA level dropped 40 mg/L causing a seizure, and in the other two their EEGs showed seizure activity without clinical convulsions, probably due to general sedation).
