Summary: | In this paper a nonlinear algorithm for adaptive control of a fed-batch bioreactor for high density cultures is proposed. The control of these processes is difficult due to parameter variations and process disturbances. The control scheme is based on a reduced model used to estimate the uncertainties with adaptive techniques. Convergence of estimated biomass to a desired neighborhood was proved based on the reduced model. The good performance of the control scheme was verified with full model simulations of the bioreactor simulations. |
