Summary:The discussion around innovation is topic of great relevance today. It is a process that is at once systematic, comprised of assumed risks and challenges in the search for positive results, either by investments in research, development and training of professionals, by reducing expenditures or production processes, increase revenues or reach a new market. Thus, this article aims to describe spoon empirical evidence of the perception of entrepreneurs at Caruaru-PE on innovation. The methodology used is classified as exploratory survey. Data were collected through questionnaires sent closed via email to entrepreneurs Caruaru-PE. At the end of the survey, sued to coding and tabulating the data, followed by the description and analysis. Data analysis was performed using the Microsoft Excel 2010 program, which after processing the data, the graphs were obtained with all variables. The main results of the survey highlight the identification of the focus and characteristics of innovation in Caruaru-PE companies, as well as the profile of caruaruense innovative entrepreneur.
