Summary: | Education is defined as the process of acculturation and socialization continuing throughout individual's life span while teaching is planned and institutionalized experiences for the knowledge, skill, and values individuals required to gain. Recent developments, especially seen in the last years, along with the concept of globalization caused the changes in teaching concept and brought with them the use of new notions and approaches in teaching. In this "digital era", new concepts and approaches have been widely used in education and training and they have become an important part of accounting education together with the important legal changes in the field of accounting. This situation along with the international accounting standards led many stakeholders such as businesses, financial institutions, workers of accounting vocation and educational institutions to work harder on this issue. Because of this necessity, this study aims to "evaluate the applicability of an alternative teaching-learning model and approaches in accounting training in the light of the opinions of teaching staff". Research sample includes teaching staff giving accounting courses in Atatürk University, Kafkas University and Ardahan University. In this research done by using general screening model, the data was collected by using a 5-point Likert type scale developed by the researchers to evaluate the applicability of alternative teaching model and approaches. SPSS 16.0 was used to analyze the quantitative data obtained in this research to calculate descriptive statistics, factor, correlation, reliability, t test, and analysis of variance. Judgments and suggestions were asserted according the analysis results evaluated with a critical stance. |
