Description
Summary:This study presents a structural model of the demand supply of enrollment places in parochial schools and applies this model in the evaluation of alternative designs of voucher policies. The model's estimated parameters are utilized to simulate the effects of different- sized and differently targeted vouchers on public and private school attendance, the fiscal status of public school districts, and public educational costs. The study also examines the possibility that vouchers could displace donors' support of parochial schools and encourage teachers in these schools to become involved in political processes affecting their salaries and working conditions.(DIPF/Abstract übernommen)
