Summary:The Nd-B binary system and Nd-Fe-B ternary system were thermodynamically reassessed with the aim of obtaining more reasonable thermodynamic parameters and more accurate phase relations. Based on the metastable experimental information, a reasonable, self-consistent, and comprehensive thermodynamic description of the Nd-Fe-B ternary system considering the metastable phases Fe 3 B, Fe 23 Nd 2 B 3 , and Fe 17 Nd 2 B has been developed.
