Summary:This paper discusses recent studies referred to the development of logical thinking, in which we attempted to analyze, through a literature review, scientific articles published in proceedings of national and international scientific events in 2009 Brazil and 2013 in order to discuss the State of the Art that area. There has been a growing number of studies that deal specifically with this field, with more emphasis on studies probing that, in general, show that students are able to develop such reasoning early. Research indicates the need for continued education of proposals to address the difficulties teachers; thorough preparation of textbooks, which should bring, as well as combinatorial problems, guidance to the teacher; the contribution of educational software for teaching; and the importance of methods based on the strategies presented by the students.
