Description
Summary:A bronze sculpture of a togatus, lost for more than a century in American private collections, has been recently rediscovered. As for its origin, although it had been traditionally located in the Roman province of Gallia, recent studies have demonstrated that this sculpture emerged from the city of Pompelo in the Roman province of Hispania Citerior. In this article a stylistic analysis of the sculpture will be conducted, drawing new conclusions with regard to its typology, chronology and display.
