Summary: | Acknowledging the importance, obvious due to the crisis, of the financial markets for bank liquidity and credit this article analyzes the role of the bookrunners in those markets. This article argues that the post-crisis scenario, which is characterized by a less concentrated and more competitive industry, a dominance of syndicate-placed deals with more bookrunners and where new non financial issuers are in the horizon, is likely to alter the role of bookrunners. |
