Summary: | This paper introduces a novel transformerless multilevel hybrid conversion topology, presents as most important contribution the generation of two isolated DC voltage sources without transformers, for applications in DC/AC cascade hybrid multilevel converters. This is achieved by modifying the traditional DC/DC Buck converter topology; a suitable switching strategy is employed to regulate the isolated DC voltages Vc1 and Vc2 sources at the flying capacitors C1 and C2. The simulation, mathematical model of the converter and the experimental results obtained from the laboratory-scale version of shows the performance of the proposal and its relative advantages. |
