Description
Summary:Steppe communities in the mountain steppe belt of Khakassia are characterized by high heterogeneity and patchiness. This is due to heterogeneous topography and differences in the composition of bedrocks, which provide for the diversity of edaphic and hydrothermal habitat conditions. As a consequence, different combinations of steppe vegetation are formed within relatively small areas, depending on changes in topo-graphic features and complexes of ecological factors associated with them. The purpose of this study was to analyze ecological trends in the formation of steppe communities in mountain steppe landscapes and evaluate the roles of different ecological factors.
