Description
Summary:DNA is an intriguing alternative marker in the stool for reasons that are, theoretically, compelling. Firstly, DNA is released into the faecal stream continuously via exfoliation rather than intermittently via bleeding, which could enhance sensitivity and obviate the need for multiple stool tests during each screening. Secondly, DNA comes from the neoplasm itself rather than from the circulation, which could improve specificity.
