Summary:The British government has instigated a training scheme in the UK for Iraqi doctors, 1 who for many years have worked under UN sanctions restricting access to all imported materials for continuing professional development, including the BMJ. 2 Some of those involved in this clinical training programme, supported by all of the royal medical colleges, have returned to Iraq to help reinstate the health system to its glory days of the 1980s.
