Description
Summary:In this paper, we investigate and analyze the spectral allocation in Elastic Optical Network (EON). We compare the current model fixed grade 50 GHz allocation per channel of Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) with EON flexible grade. We propose three bit rate demands scenarios to evaluate the EON performance. First, current scenario with bit rate until 100 Gb/s. Second scenario, next generation of bit rate with until 400 Gb/s and the last one, future scenario with bit rate until 1 Tb/s. Our computer simulation results shows that the new EON flexible schema can offers a blocking probability reduction up to 22% in comparison to the WDM fixed grade.
