Summary: | In the present review, we discuss works that have been published in the last 15-20 years that are devoted to the analysis of mathematical computational models of thermal properties of braking friction systems of various types. New applications of the theory of heat conduction and thermoelasticity as well as the rapid development of computer engineering have led to a considerable increase in the number of solvable problems, and the refining of mathematical methods and approaches enables one to construct analytic solutions of these problems. In the paper, we outline the main directions of investigation of the processes of interaction of bodies with regard for heat release. We describe analytic methods in more detail as compared with other approaches, because, to our mind, they are very promising for deriving simple engineering relations for braking processes on the basis of the equations of the thermal dynamics of friction. |
