Description
Summary:This paper describes the application of a specialized program design and training approach used with multidisciplinary professionals within a long-term residential treatment unit for adolescent males. The notion of "clinical availability" is formulated that criticizes traditional program models in therapeutic milieu settings, and redefines the role of the primary therapist. Principles of strategic and systemic family therapy are used to illustrate the epistemological challenges inherent in psychoeducational programs.
