Impact Analysis of Plug-in Electric Vehicle Connected in Real Distribution Network

This work has the objective to analyze a real electric grid behavior after the connection of electric vehicles lead-acid batteries chargers. These chargers have an AC - DC conversion system, considering that the batteries are feeding by direct current. However, due to conversion system switching, ha...

description This work has the objective to analyze a real electric grid behavior after the connection of electric vehicles lead-acid batteries chargers. These chargers have an AC - DC conversion system, considering that the batteries are feeding by direct current. However, due to conversion system switching, harmonics are injected in the process, which may represent a power quality problem, depending on its intensity. The electric grid modeling was developed using the software OpenDSS and the results were analyzed using the software Matlab®, based on the limits established in PRODIST Module 8 and in IEEE Std 519-1992.
