Summary:The article considers the current state of the meat industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and defines the development stages for the enterprises of meat industry. The analysis of the related statistical data for 1990-2014 was carried out to estimate the impact of market relations on the sustainable development of this industry. Recommendations on product competitiveness improvement are developed along with the prospects of meat industry development in the light of the decisions of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The key factors of the meat products quality increase are outlined.
