Summary:This study sought to determine the importance of women's participation in the game of skittles in Boiro, which allowed us to understand the phenomenon in that part of Galicia, Spain - the only town in the province of A Coruña where the game stil exists. The qualitative, descriptive and interpretative study using personal interview as a tool to obtain information found that women do not play skittles in Boiro, and they adopted a passive role that more conditioned by historical barriers against women and the role that society had reserved for them than by their physical skills.
