Summary: | Multiple linear regressions were applied to deconvolve the impulse response function for each condition. In particular, IFG is thought to process semantic relations and is also implicated in top-down retrieval of lexical representations, suggesting that the mechanisms involved in coercion may include deeper processing of semantic relationships between the verb and direct object, detection of initial compositional error, and possibly controlled retrieval of lexical (qualia) structure. |
