Description
Summary:This study was carried out at the University of Ankara, Faculty of Agriculture, Field Crops Department experimental field during 1994–1996. Two flax (Linum usitatissimum L.) cultivars having two different flower colours were used as the study material. The cultivar with white flowers was used as a receptor and the violet coloured cultivar was used as a donor. Average cross-pollination ratio was 1·81% in 1994 whereas it was 0·93% in 1995. The highest cross-pollination was obtained from third experimental design as 4·85% in 1994 and 3·21% in 1995. There were differences among the experimental designs in respect to cross-pollination. The results of this research showed that cross-pollination ratio decreased when distance between donor plants increased.
