Description
Summary:A rapid method for the determination of nitrogen in milk by direct nesslerization of digested sample has been described. The effect of the variables involved in the test has been investigated and their tolerance established. When compared with a modified Kjeldahl-Gunning-Arnold method for the macro determination of nitrogen, the method yields results which are approximately 2.5 per cent low on the average, but are within the experimental error. The method yields reproducible results which are sufficiently accurate for all but the most exacting work, with a considerable saving in time and reagents when compared with other methods currently in use.
