Summary:The present paper analyses F. de Saussure's manuscripts concerning interesting histori(ographi)cal and linguistics remarks on two Latin inscriptions from Geneva area, and places them in the context of Saussure's scientific interest. The author moves from Saussure's comment on Pierre-Pertuis text to discuss some linguistic aspects of the inscription, in particular its syntactic order, also in the framework of the formulary of Roman epigraphy.
