Description
Summary:Economic performance of dairy cattle was studied in five dairy public farms cattle in Tunisia (two agro-industrial complexes: AIC, three Cooperative units of agricultural production: CUAP) during the period from 1997 to 2007. The feeding systems were determinate from combinations of different rations along the year. Four different types rations were defined (distributed during at least a whole month) according the roughages used in ration (R1: Concentrate (CC) + hay (FS) + Silage (E); R2: CC+FS+E+V ; R3: CC+F+E+ sugar beet pulp (PB); R4: CC+FS+E+V+PB). The main aim of this was to define and evaluate the effect of feeding systems on the economic indicators of milk production. The average production cost of a liter of milk (CPL) was estimate at 0.404 TND. Feed costs represented an average 55.4% of total costs (CA / CT). The largest part of this fraction is reserved to concentrates (34.5% of totals costs). The comparison of economic indicators for different feeding systems, showed that feeding systems used in the AIC (S2 (R1 and R2), S5 (R2 + R 3 + R 4) and S6 (R 2 + R4)) induce the high production costs (P
