Description
Summary:In contrast to broad applications of small aromatic rings and π-conjugated wire-like units, the use of large polyaromatic rings in coordination nanostructures has been less developed to date. This review article describes the recent progress of coordination-driven cages and capsules with multiple polyaromatic panels, such as anthracene, pyrene, and perylene derivatives. In the well-defined cavities, intriguing chemical phenomena can be observed through enhanced interactions with the polyaromatic frameworks.
