Summary: | Cloud computing provides an ambient environment to provide a rich user experience where a desired set of features can be accessed on demand via three set of services namely Software as a service(SaaS), platform as a service(PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service(IaaS). Cloud computing has potentially impacted the way business is now being conducted. In addition to providing numerous benefits, in Public Cloud, Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud and Community Cloud environments, Software as a service is now being integrated by enterprises into their IT services. In this process of integration, the architecture of cloud is being compromised. Such features not only transform cloud computing into an attractive venture but have also challenged, the existing security system and also revealed new security issues. In this paper we identify the features of SaaS from the application architecture, functionality and efficiency view points. This research paper also raises the security challenges in SaaS model of cloud computing and also aspires to provide subsequent security research routes. |
