Filtration, Pore Pressure, and Settling From Consolidation of an Ultra-High Dam

Field observations of rock-earth dams lead to a recommendation that problems of filtration through the clay core of a dam should be solved using principles of unsteady flow (the Poisson equation). In many ways, the resulting solution changes the concept of filtration flow through the core. Settling...

Description
Summary:Field observations of rock-earth dams lead to a recommendation that problems of filtration through the clay core of a dam should be solved using principles of unsteady flow (the Poisson equation). In many ways, the resulting solution changes the concept of filtration flow through the core. Settling during the construction period is compensated by adding additional soil.
