Description
Summary:In some cases there is no possibility for modelling of the soil behavior by traditional finite element method or other mesh-based techniques. It has been found that as a completely Lagrangian and mesh-free technique, smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) provides advanced approaches for simulation of soil materials. The advantages of SPH are its high power, simplicity of concept, relative simplicity in combination with modern physics, and particularly its potential in the study of large deformations and failures.
