Description
Summary:An abstract of a study by Lutz et al on the effects of feeding liquid sweet whey (LSW), the byproduct resulting from the manufacture of hard cheeses, to growing swine is presented. A total of 72 barrows, weighing 9.63 and 8.33 kg BW at weaning for replicate 1 and 2, respectively were used in the study. Results show that feeding LSW using wet-dry feeders in wean-finish production has potential to provide economic and environmental benefits for both cheese and pork production.
