Results: The presence of the CDHR3 variant (Cys529Tyr) was consistently associated with asthma (OR = 1.52 and 1.61; p = 0.036 and 0.026 in the Tsukuba and Hokkaido cohorts, respectively), when the analysis was limited to patients with early-onset adult asthma (age at onset of the disease is 10 years old or younger).
