Summary: | EOA3 had the most severe allergic asthma with poor baseline lung function and persistent airflow obstruction despite marked reversibility to albuterol (mean pre-BD FEV1%predicted=46%, post-BD FEV1=60%). The remaining 37% of subjects were assigned to two groups with Adult Onset Asthma (AOA1-2) with mean disease diagnosis of 35 years, frequent sinusitis (43-46%), nasal polyposis (33%) and sinus surgery (19-23%) but less atopy (62-65% with >1 positive spIgE). |
