C74 ADVANCES IN TRANSLATIONAL COPD: Effects Of A Pparã And Lxr Agonists Combination Therapy On The Pulmonary Response To Cigarette Smoke

Hypothesis: Concomitant pharmacological activation of PPARy and LXR receptors will promote pulmonary lipid export in response to cigarette smoke, reducing the magnitude of the inflammatory response. Lung tissue and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) were collected to analyse lung inflammation (total cells...

Description
Summary:Hypothesis: Concomitant pharmacological activation of PPARy and LXR receptors will promote pulmonary lipid export in response to cigarette smoke, reducing the magnitude of the inflammatory response. Lung tissue and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) were collected to analyse lung inflammation (total cells counts, differentials, ELISA) and expression of key genes involved in lipid transport (abca1, abcg1 and apoe) were assessed.
