Summary:[...]the aim of our study was to compare patients with AECOPD during summer months to patients exacerbating during the cold period of the year by characterizing them by clinical parameters to detect a group vulnerable to urban heat stress in metropolitan Berlin, Germany. A diversity of data from each patient's medical report including age, sex, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), postal code, Gold Status, forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), long-term-oxygen-therapy (LTOT), pack years, smoker status, date of admission and release, duration of hospitalization, and comorbidities was gathered.
