Summary: | Echocardiographic analysis included standard assessment of RV chamber size and function using conventional measures of tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE) and fractional area change (FAC), as well as novel right ventricular longitudinal systolic speckle tracking strain (RVLSS) of the basal, midventricular and apical RV free wall. The differences observed in regional strain between SScPAH and IPAH were unchanged after adjusting for mean pulmonary arterial pressure and pulmonary vascular resistance by means of logistic regression. |
