Summary: | Several signalling pathways are activated post injury that modulate epithelial regeneration and repair including; Notch signalling that regulates progenitor cell migration, proliferation and differentiation. Furthermore, Notch signalling inhibition resulted in a reduction of a5 integrin protein expression in a dose-dependent manner with maximal reduction of 30% at 500 nM DAPT, potentially contributing to the observed reduction in wound repair rates. |
