Summary: | The purpose of this study is to identify perception of the high school age adolescents to the hierarchical structures within the school, family and their peers. Creative drama method is used to examine and to discuss the effects of hierarchical structure within the institutional relations in the context of equality/inequality. With this purpose 16 adolescents in the 14-15 age group from MEB Haci Rahime Ulusoy Denizcilik Anadolu Meslek Lisesi located in the Uskudar district of Istanbul province voluntarily participated in this study, which includes 18 hrs of workshop. In order to question the concept of hierarchy that constitutes the subject of work, five different themes have been identified concerning the relation of occupational division of labor, social division of labor, schools, peer group and family concepts. Workshops were applied according to each theme, and finally a general evaluation session was held. The case study, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used as research design. At the end of each three hour creative drama session designed to discuss and question the concept of hierarchy, the measurement evaluation forms used in the evaluation activities and the products created by the students in the process were evaluated with descriptive analysis. As a result of the analysis of the data, it was observed that the participants discussed and questioned the concept of hierarchy around the five subjects determined in the process in a theoretical whole and brought their solution proposals. |
