Summary: | Carter discusses how the latest crane technology can help ensure the outcome at what goes up must come down, at the right time and under complete control. A recent analysis by overhead crane manufacturer Konecranes of Occupational Safety and Health Administration which reported crane incidents in the United States, involving a study tracking incidents over a 10-year period, showed the average cost to an employer from a major crane-related injury. As a result, Konechranes educates crane buyers about how its proprietary safe technologies address the issue of load swing through its Active Sway Control and Hook Centering to reduce the number of crane-related accidents. The Crane Control System, a user-friendly interface developed by mobile crane manufacturer Manitowoc and incorporating features from different types of cranes by other manufacturers are mentioned. |
