Summary: | Surface morphology of the ends of a homogeneous system of In/In before and after contact is studied by means of scanning electron and atomic force microscopy. It is found that the surface reliefs are quite different. Two new homogeneous systems, Zn/Zn and Bi/Bi, are studied. A considerable reduction in the joining (bonding) temperatures relative to the melting temperatures (510S and 690S, respectively) is noted. An approach is proposed that complements our concept of the mechanism of the joining (bonding) of homogeneous metals. |
