Summary:The chemical composition and forms of element present in superdispersed (nanosized) surface phases were studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and X-ray spectral electron probe microanalysis. The phases were obtained during the sulfidization of thin metallic films of iron and copper on monocrystals of arsenopyrite and chalcopyrite. The dependence of the phase composition and the stoichiometry of sulfide phases on the sulfur concentration in the system was determined by physicochemical modeling (minimization of the Gibbs energy).
