Description
Summary:An abstract of a study by Etter et al describing the utilization of a computerized clinical decision support system (CDSS) to screen for suicide risk among adolescents presenting for primary care is presented. Data were gathered from a larger study of the implementation of a CDSS within two federally qualified Urban Midwest health centers. Results demonstrate that depression and suicide risk do not consistently co-occur; therefore, screening for depression may not effectively identify all adolescents at risk for suicide.
