Summary:An abstract of a study by Narayan and Moore detailing a retrospective chart review designed to measure the emergency department (ED) and inpatient care utilization of a group of vulnerable adolescents in Vancouver, Canada is presented. The study seeks to generate insights exploring which youth are at higher future risk of ED visits thus facilitating the implementation of prevention strategies. Results show an unmet need for mental health/substance use support in this population.
