Summary:An abstract of the study conducted by Bennett et al examining the associations of child demographics and illness characteristics with child self-reports of communication with mothers and fathers is presented. Bennett et al concluded that child age, gender, and treatment characteristics (radiation and hone marrow transplant) were significantly associated with the quality of communication between children with cancer and their mothers.
