Summary: | An abstract of a study by Radwany et al recognizing the value of an interdisciplinary forum that promotes collaborative working relationships to advance patient-centered care is presented. Formal evaluation data support that Rounds participants report increased insight into psychosocial aspects of care, enhanced compassion, and increased ability to respond to patients' social and emotional issues. Participants also report how Rounds have helped them develop skills to communicate with more sensitivity and empathy when dealing with patients and patients' families, which translates into better overall care. |
