Description
Summary:The differences in the pixel values over these contour portions are analyzed to define the presence of the disease. Since the imaging of the right and left knee were done under same X-ray machine with the same photographic plate, the images formed will have same properties if the bone joints are normal and will show the difference in pixels if the bone joints are abnormal. [...]the threshold which is higher than this value is chosen and the same is fixed as 5.The Euclidean distance between the pixels obtained from the suspicious knee and the normal knee are calculated and compared with the threshold. [...]a noticeable increase in the erosion level in the membrane has been observed during evaluation with the image analysis for the latter case. Since this method of diagnosis produced useful results, this algorithm helps in the diagnosis of arthritis at an early stage from radiographic images. [...]this method is non-invasive and easier method for the diagnosis of arthritis from digital X-ray images over the existing methods.
